Zobrist left the team’s April 18 game against the Royals with soreness in his left knee and underwent arthroscopic surgery 10 days later. He began a minor league rehab assignment earlier this week.

Zobrist, 33, was hitting .240/.304/.400 with one home run and eight RBIs over his first 14 games this season. The two-time All-Star was acquired by Oakland this winter after he spent his first nine major league seasons in Tampa.
