As time ran out and with the Sun Devils needing a touchdown at the end of the fourth quarter on Saturday, ASU QB Mike Bercovici threw a prayer to the end zone. ASU’s Jalen Strong went relatively unnoticed, and as the USC defenders looked upward to try and intercept the ball they hardly seemed to mind the receiver’s presence.
Strong wound up catching the ball quite easily, letting the Sun Devils escape with a win, 38-34.
USC fans were, to say the least, stunned.
Bercovici was overcome with the victory, falling to the ground as his teammates mobbed him.
