The photographers we use regularly are a wonderful, charismatic, unpredictable bunch, based all over the world–people like Nina Berman from New York, Andy Hernandez in Hong Kong, Mark Peters in Cape Town. In the pages that follow, we showcase recent work for NEWSWEEK from four of the team: Turnley and Luc Delahaye, both based in Paris (the world capital of photojournalism); Gary Knight, who works out of London, and Katharina Hesse, who makes her home in Beijing. Whether it’s shooting the despair of Siberian families, the silent horror of Chernobyl or the innocent enjoyment of Chinese parades, they bring us each week a fresh eye on the world. We hope you enjoy and marvel at their work as much as we do.
