The player in question is senior offensive lineman Mike Johnson, who — while still wearing his helmet — head-butted what appeared to be fullbacks coach Mike Viti, himself a former fullback for the Black Knights and a 2008 West Point alum. He was clearly dazed after the encounter, and needed to be held up:

While it’s certainly not the best practice to head-butt other people, it makes even less sense to engage in the practice while only person is wearing protective headgear. That might be the last we see of head-butting between players and coaches on the sideline.

Or, at least until Viti clears concussion protocol.
