The sophomore is the first Razorback ever and the third SEC player in the past four years to capture the award.

Benintendi led the SEC in batting average (.380), home runs (20), on-base percentage (.489), slugging (.715) and walks (47). He became the first college baseball player to hit 20 home runs and steal 20 bases in a season since 2009.

Benintendi, 20, was recently selected by the Red Sox as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft. He is expected to sign with the club in the near future.
