Ariana Grande, Jameela Jamil, and several others have shared their support with those who have been affected and urged their followers to help how they can.
The blast has killed at least dozens and injured thousands, causing destruction and sending shockwaves throughout the city.
The country’s president, Michel Aoun said the blast was caused by 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored unsafely in a warehouse.
Shocking footage of the far-reaching explosion has been widely shared on social media, as the world comes to terms with the scale of the tragedy.

Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande has shown solidarity with those affected by the blast, by sharing a link to a donation site.
The “Greedy” singer tweeted: “my heart, strength and condolences are with Lebanon and everyone affected by this tragedy. please support / donate if you’re able to, i will be doing so too.”
She added in a later tweet: “another way to support. the @RedCrossLebanon app: http://supportlrc.app please share.”
Kylie Jenner
“Wow wow. Prayers for Lebanon omg,” reality star Kylie Jenner wrote on her Instagram story, as well as a donation page for disaster relief.
Jameela Jamil
Star of The Good Place, Jameela Jamil also took to Twitter to share her shock and offer support.
“I am stunned by what I have seen,” she tweeted. “I am so sorry to the families who have lost loved ones today in Beirut. If you are looking for how to help, here is a fund.”
Saint Hoax
Syrian artist, satirist and socio-political activist Saint Hoax also addressed their followers on Twitter, tweeting: "
I am safe. My family is safe. A huge explosion happened at Beirut’s port area. The explosion shattered our home. felt like the air was sucked out of the aprtment. Not sure if it was a deliberate attack or an accident. It was devastating. Praying for all the people who r injured.
Dylan Minette
Dylan Minette, who is best known for starring in Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why tweeted: “absolutely terrifying. i have chills. i can’t even imagine experiencing this. my heart and thoughts are with everyone in beirut.”
He later shared a resource for donations, writing: “hospitals in beirut are completely full and there are thousands injured. here’s how you can help.”

Singer Halsey said her heart was “aching” at the footage from the explosion and its aftermath and urged her followers to help her post resources for how people can help.

Naomi Campbell posted a number of photos on her Instagram page from times she visited Beirut, along with a link to help victims in her bio.
She told her followers: “My thoughts, prayers and love go out to the people of Lebanon and their families. (My memories of downtown of how I will remember it.”

YouTuber Zane Hijazi, who has family in Beirut, urged his followers to donate to the Lebanese Red Cross.
He tweeted: “A large explosion just took place in downtown Beirut. I have family there and have confirmed they’re all safe, but many are injured and in need of immediate assistance. If anyone can contribute to the following link, the first round of donations are going to @RedCrossLebanon.”
He later tweeted: “Here’s another reliable site to donate to. Seeing a place I grew up in experiencing such turmoil, is really unsettling. And with the economic crisis they were experiencing beforehand, they need all the help we can give.”

Actress and singer Mandy Moore shared a New York Times article from a reporter on the ground in Beirut and sais she could not “fathom” the scale of the devastation.
