On Netanyahu’s new plan: It’s a flagrant breach of the [Oslo] peace agreements.
On what he expects to get under the Oslo accords: The whole West Bank except for 9 percent, which is to be discussed in final status talks.
On Netanyahu’s trustworthiness: The is not trust. He was elected and we have to deal with him. The problem is how he will implement what has been agreed upon.
On the murder of three Palestinians who sold land to Jews: We are absolutely against anyone taking the law into his own hands. I have formed a committee to investigate these matters. If we find [people accused of such killings] we will arrest them.
On the recent arrest and detention of Palestinian journalist Daoud Kuttab: He operated a TV station with out a license, and he committed certain crimes for which I think he should be brought to justice. With the evidence we have, he’ll be back in court.
On allegations of corruption in his administration: To be corrupt you need to have money. We don’t have money. Most of our money is in the hands of the donor countries.
On U.S. envoy Dennis Ross: How can we expect him to succeed where President Clinton fails? It’s the message, not the messenger. We wish for a serious and effective involvement of the American administration–preferably at higher levels.
On whether he gave the green light to Hamas leaders to conduct terrorism: I refuse this question. You are dealing with Yasir Arafat.
