The veteran running back managed just 14 yards in the first half, while Diggs had six receptions for 63 yards and two touchdowns.

This year marks Peterson’s first season with the Saints, after he played his entire career with the Vikings.

UPDATE: Saints coach Sean Payton denied the exchange was heated.

“No," he told reporters after the game. “Listen, I’d tell you if we were in a heated exchange, so why don’t you ask him? He was into it, we were all into it, there was none that I can recall. And I’m being honest.”
