As country quartet Little Big Town began performing “The Star-Spangled Banner,” the unfurling of the flag began, and it was quickly evident that there was a problem, as the seam between the seventh and eighth stripes on the flag split, right at the junction with the blue field.

One of the flag unfurlers was caught in the chasm, and lay on the ground under the flag, seemingly trying to hide from the embarrassing moment as the anthem was performed. Upon the conclusion of Little Big Town’s rendition, he got up and dashed toward the right field wall, through the hole in the flag, which had grown as the flag was waved around.
