Desmond Gould, 23, of New Castle, Delaware, claimed he was “throwing his feces into the woods” but police allege he was hiding parcels worth hundreds of dollars that he planned to retrieve at a later date.

Police said they saw the driver throwing a large box from the van into woods running alongside the road.

A total of eleven packages valuing $289 were found and the driver was charged with theft and illegal dumping He will appear in court at a later date.

According to WMAR-TV, when police interviewed the driver he admitted throwing the boxes in the sewer because he was angry and wanted to stop work for the day.

Last month, a courier working for the online retail giant rescued a man from a burning home during a delivery run in Florida.

Sean Campbell was delivering parcels in New Smyrna Beach when he heard screams, dropped his packages and ran to the scene of the inferno.

“I heard the screaming and when you hear something like that you have to go to it,” the 23-year-old told WESH News.

Arriving at the home, he realized an elderly man was stuck inside, seemingly unable to move.

“He was in the kitchen, you know, with his walker just standing there. I don’t think he really knew what was going on. I was like ‘Sir, c’mon. I need to help you. C’mon, let’s get out,’” Campbell said.

“He was trying to grab his walker. I was like no, we got to move… you’ve got to see another day.”

Campbell said he needed to rip open the front door to get inside and rescue the man, who appeared unable to respond to the urgency of the situation.

Firefighters were able to rescue the family dog but the home was so badly damaged that the man is now staying with nearby relatives.
