The Atlanta Police Department (APD) released the names of six suspects who were apprehended during the riot in the city on Saturday evening. Only one of the suspects was from Georgia. Nadja Geier, 24, from Nashville Tennesee, Madeleine Feola, 22, from Spokane, Washington, Ivan Ferguson, 23, from Nevada, Graham Evatt, 20, from Decatur, Georgia, Francis Carrol, 22, from Kennebunkport, Maine and Emily Murphy, 37, from Grosse Isle, Michigan, were all charged in connection with the riot....

Costa won’t be able to play for Atletico Madrid until 2 January when the loan deal will start. The permanent move is then set to go through on 1 July 2018 but he will finally see an end to talk over his future after spending all summer in Brazil. The resulting fireball, which was visible over Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan at around 2:46 a.m. (UT), was reported to the American Meteor Society (AMS) by 95 people. The meteor was even spotted by some witnesses in the United States located in North Dakota. Elaine Bredehoft, who represented Heard during the recent trial in Fairfax County, Virginia is stepping down, as she said it’s “the perfect time to pass the baton.” Attorneys David L. Axelrod and Jay Ward Brown of Ballard Spahr will now represent Heard in court. Ben Rottenborn, who also represented Heard in the recent trial, will continue as co-counsel. A statement from Heard’s spokesperson suggested that the actor wanted “different representation” to fight her case since “new evidence” has come to light....

An investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that the ambulance was traveling west on Avenue N toward the intersection of Schenectady Avenue when it collided with a 2002 Nissan Maxima heading south on Schenectady Avenue near the intersection at around 3 p.m. The ambulance then rolled over onto the driver’s side and struck another vehicle, a 2013 Toyota Camry which had stopped at the intersection waiting for the light to turn green....

A year later, however, those budgets have inched back up, and early indications are that 2022 could see even more funding for police departments across the country. “I think some civic leaders were surprised at the number of people who weren’t really on board with that plan,” Wesley Skogan said of the movement to defund police.
